The month of December is always a great month for every Filipino. This is the time for Noche Buena’s, family reunions, gift-giving, and bonuses, of course. This is also the season for good investments and one of those good investments that you can do is by getting yourself a new condo unit.
Why do we say so? According to financial analysts, the demand for luxury condominium units continues to increase, despite the already high demand starting from 2011 until 2013. In fact, sales for luxury condo units have surged 300% during those years. And we are talking about total sales units of more than 7 million pesos! That certainly tells you one thing; condominium units are selling like hot pancakes!
So why should you invest in a condo unit during the holiday season? Here are some of the reasons why:
1. End of the Year Sales: There are some real estate companies that really want to sell the remaining condo units that have not been occupied yet. This is true for condos that only have around five to ten units left. Some real estate companies even give discounts to those who are willing to get the condominium units and this, for some reason, always happens during December. Perhaps this may have something to do with the year ending. In any case, you’re lucky indeed if you managed to stumble on a good discount offer for a prized condo unit right in the heart of the city!
2. Renting your Condo for Tourists Next Year: Getting a condo unit at this time of the month should give you the opportunity to rent the place for tourists or expats who are planning to visit the Philippines for next year’s festivities. This is especially true in Cebu City, where Sinulog happens on January. Sinulog is one of the biggest festivals in the Philippines and a lot of foreigners and tourists are flocking to Cebu already, even during December! Even in other major cities, like in Manila, Pasig, and other big cities, there are major festivities going on from January until June.
So if you brought a condo unit at this time of the month, quickly fix everything and clean up the place then put up an ad for a condominium unit for rent!
3. Selling the Unit for Next Year: Investing in a condo unit won’t be a waste of money because you can always rent it out or sell it if you need cash for any business endeavors that you’re planning for next year. As most real estate experts would say, your money is always on the roll when you’ve invested in a condo unit. Besides, the high demand for luxury condo units in the Philippines won’t go down any time soon because of the rising demand for BPO-related jobs and opportunities in the country.
