Spain’s renowned Real Madrid football coaches officially kicked off its biggest and first-ever series of football clinics in the Philippines at Megaworld’s state-of-the-art McKinley Hill Stadium in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City.
Spearheaded by Andrew Tan’s conglomerate, Alliance Global Group, Inc. (AGI), parent company of Emperador, Inc., and the PinoySports Foundation, the sports clinic is set to mentor 36 local coaches and 360 students from the National Capital Region.
“We are proud to be part of this biggest Real Madrid football clinic in the Philippines. Through the guidance of these professional coaches from Real Madrid Foundation, we hope to produce some of the best football stars in the world,” said Kevin L. Tan, Director of Alliance Global Group, Inc.
Between October 5 to 9, and again between October 12 to 16 at McKinley Hill Stadium, Real Madrid coaches Daniel Landaburu, Jose Agustin Soto Garcia and Joaquin Lopez Martinez, together with their assistant coaches, are setto teach around 36 local coaches and 360 students from the NCR.
Real Madrid Foundation will also hold football clinics in Baler, Aurora on October 19 to 23 and October 26 to 30, in which 12 coaches and 120 students will participate.
The three visiting coaches from Real Madrid will share the methods and training regime based on the current programs in Real Madrid’s youth development program, which are rarely accessible to teach in Asia.
“It is a great opportunity for the Filipinos to be coached and trained by these three Real Madrid coaches because their methods can produce world’s best players like Cristiano Ronaldo, James Rodriguez, and Iker Casillas, considered one of the best goalkeepers in the world,” said former Senator Edgardo Angara, Chairman of the PinoySports Foundation.
Tan also shared the McKinley Hill Stadium is the best facility for such sports programs. It can accommodate around 5,000 people, and uses the Max S 60 mm variety of the renowned Italian brand Limonta Sport, which is one of the few turf providers certified by FIFA.
“We are proud to build a world-class football field for Filipinos. We opted for trusted international brands, so our facilities can be at par with the other known football fields around the globe. This can also build the confidence of our local football players to improve their skills,” said Tan.
AGI, PinoySports Foundation and Real Madrid Foundation recently signed a partnership agreement in Spain to conduct ‘rolling’ football clinic in the Philippines. The series of football clinics are set to mentor the youth and local coaches across the 16 regions of the Philippines.
