From international school to skyscraper hub; Century Properties goes tall in Makati

Century Properties has built up Century City over the past decade

Today, Century City is a beacon for vertical development in the Philippines. The 3.4-hectare, mixed-use development located in Makati is home to two of the Philippines’ tallest five buildings.

Another, Century Spire, is under construction and will give the development three of the country’s six tallest skyscrapers when completed. It is all part of a vision laid out by Jose E. B. Antonio, Chairman, President and CEO of Century Properties who certainly had grand visions for Century City.

In 2006, he purchased a site that was previously used by the International School of Manila and began construction on Century City the following year. What has sprung up during the past 13 years has been nothing short of amazing.

It started with The Gramercy Residences in 2014 which remains one of the tallest buildings in the Philippines. The tower opened alongside Century City Mall, a bustling retail complex with upscale shops, a movie theatre and a wide array of food and beverage options.

The following year, The Gramercy Residences was joined in the skyline by The Knightsbridge Residences, a 210-meter skyscraper with 60 stories. Currently, The Knightsbridge Residences is the 25th tallest building in the country.

Century City welcomed two new skyscraper additions in 2017 with both Trump Tower Manila and The Milano Residences. Trump Tower Manila generated a ton of headlines and is still the third tallest building in the Philippines today. However, The Milano Residences are also a sight to behold, even if the tower doesn’t rise as high as some of its neighbors.

The Milano Residences spares no expense when it comes to details. The fully furnished units feature Versace Home Design interiors. The entire project looks as if it came straight from the Milan runway with sleek common areas and even a designer swimming pool.

Century Spire will be the crowning achievement of Century City. The Skyscraper will be the fourth tallest building in the Philippines when finished but should be peerless when it comes to design. Giorgio Armani’s vision will be found in each unit as Armani/Casa has provided custom-designed amenities and interiors. Kitchen spaces feature a collaboration between Armani/Casa and Dada while bathrooms are being developed by a partnership between Armani Group and Roca.

There is more to Century City than this outstanding collection of skyscrapers that now dominate the Makati skyline. There is Centuria Medical Makati, a world class medical facility, as well as two office buildings. From an international school to skyscraper hub in less than two decades, Century Properties has truly built up this part of Metro Manila.
