The first impression is the one, that’s for sure. And this is the reason why people turn and walk away if the first visit becomes a complete disaster. When we talk about selling or renting a property, photos play an especially important role so that prospective new customers might be attracted by the product. As we have said in the previous post 5 tips to increase your leads, the pictures of your home will act as your letter of introduction. You shouldn’t underestimate them if you want to market your property and find some eventual candidates to live there.
Taking into account that there is more than one way of doing things, we have produced our own list of tips that will help you to make the most of the photos you are going to take. So take note and read carefully. It’s a piece of cake!
1. Tripod and camera: The quality image shall be the best one possible, this is why it is not an absurd idea to get a tripod to mount a camera on it and start taking good photos. The support will be stable and your fingers won’t tremble.
2. Turning on all the lights: Don’t forget any room. Make prospective tenants or buyers to have a perfect visual appreciation of every corner of the house in crisp detail, although they are not there in person. And it doesn’t matter if it is daytime. Turn on all the lights!
3. The vertical lines must appear vertical: In this way, windows and door frames won’t appear twisted. Pay attention to what it is seen through the camera eye before you take any picture in order to make proportions to be shown in a clear way.
4. Use every corner: The rooms will look bigger if you take the photo from a corner. That’s the most suitable point of view that will contribute to a better perspective of the photographs you will publish.
5. Avoid back light: Don’t point your camera to the light that comes in through a window, its clarity won’t allow the user to see the picture optimally. Stand backwards to the window when you have to take a photo, you can even close the curtains. But be careful of leaving us in the dark!
6. Clean and tidy before doing anything: It is a colossal blunder to take photos without cleaning the space you want to advertise. Don’t let potential customers to see your property as if a hurricane had hit it. You must clean and tidy. You will notice a difference.
7. Choose the eyefish effect: Perhaps you will find very tiny spaces that are hard to photograph. You feel your head is going to explode after having tried to take photos from all the parts of the room. Well, why don’t you try with the fisheye effect? The results will speak for themselves.
8. At eye level: You must have the ability to see the customer’s point of view as if they were visiting the property in person. If you do so, you will realize that the best way of taking photos is putting the camera just in front of your eyes.
9. Using video is another option: If you have gone to the property to take pictures, don’t forget to make a video. A guided tour through all the rooms will be perfect, like a virtual visit.
Fine, now that you have taken your time to read this post, just take a little longer in order to get good pictures from your house. Is not that difficult, isn’t it?
