He’s your super hero, mentor, and protector rolled into one. For some reason we all know that our Dads will always be there through thick and thin. That’s why at Father’s Day we should treasure the most special man in our lives.
Celebrate Father’s Day today by reminiscing the most important lessons that we learned from – especially in the home maintenance department. Below are the top home maintenance advice that we learned from our dearest Papa. Read this article with him and enjoy!
1. Finding out if there’s water leaks
Water leaks are messy. Good thing Dad taught us this age old trick: to find out if there’s a water leak, go to your tank and drop some red food coloring. Come back in an hour to see if the water in your toilet is pink. If it is, then there is really a leak.
2. The problem with the water heater
Thank your Dad for reminding you to drain the water from your water heater at least once a year. Because of this trick, you enjoy a good shower without worrying about any leaks or your hot showing getting abrupt.
3. Plumbing Problems
Plumbing is one of the most headache inducing problems that we all know. Good thing we always watch our Dads solve this problem using his bare hands. Thank you Dad for reminder us not to throw oil and fats to the sink to avoid clogging and other tips that we will always use forever.
4. What’s up with the air conditioner?
We all love our air conditioner – we live in a tropical country after all. Dad is always the one who fix and monitor the air conditioner when it’s getting overused. He does this by inspecting the condensation hose so that the water can freely flow from the line.
5. Paint, paint, paint
One of the best bonding moments of the family is by doing home renovations together. One of which is repainting. For some reason, fathers do this the best way. He re-paints the walls by matching the right colors and making sure that there are no other sore spots left.
6. Issues with the refrigerator
The refrigerator is one of the most important things in the house. Dad taught us that it’s important to keep the door seal to keep the food inside clean and fresh. And of course, to avoid high electric bills.
7. Drafty windows
We always see Dad making sure that the windows are sealed and cleared. It it’s important to do this because drafty windows can cause for the energy inside the house to go outside and create havoc into our electric bills.
8. Gutters
We live in a country that experience flood during the nastiest of seasons. That’s why our fathers always make sure that the gutters in our roof are clear of any debris to avoid and leaks and further flood.
9. Up the roof
The roof is also a vital part of the house. It’s our main protection from the sun, the rain, and other external factors. We learned from our Dads that it’s very important to take time and inspect our roofs in case of any potential leaks or damage.
Your Dad is more than just a bunch of dad jokes. Celebrate Father’s Day with him and show him how he’s appreciated.
