Typhoon Rolly, also known internationally as Typhoon Goni, has severely impacted Luzon. According to the Philippine disaster agency, 20 people in Albay and Catanduanes provinces have died while more than 340,000 people have been displaced. Rolly was strongest typhoon to make landfall in the country since Haiyan in 2013.
Damage caused by the typhoon was significant. More than 20,000 homes were destroyed and a further 55,000 homes have been partially damaged. Additionally, 13,000 homes were hit by a storm surge. Some residents have begun returning home, but help is greatly needed.
