Federal Land recently announced the launch of a Japanese-inspired condominium in Metro Manila. The Seasons Residences will be a four-tower residential project boasting curated amenities and the first Mitsukoshi mall in the Philippines. Located in Bonifacio Global City, Japan-based developers Nomura Real Estate Development and Isetan Mitsukoshi Holdings are partnering with Federal Land on the project.
The joint-venture trio has selected Nikken Sekkei to oversee the architecture, urban planning and design of The Seasons Residences. With a portfolio of more than 25,000 projects across 50 countries, the firm’s unique perspective will ensure the project is both beautiful and liveable.
“We wanted to bring Japanese design and lifestyle to the Philippines. But rather than building something that was wholly Japanese we brought the concept of Japanese living to the Philippines. A place that has the high quality and attention to detail of Japanese design but where both a Japanese and a Filipino will feel at home,” Masakazu Kimura, Head of Global Design at Nikken Sekkei, told the Philippine Inquirer.
In order to bring the Japanese aesthetic to life, Nikken Sekkei will collaborate with Casas+Architects and GF & Partners on innovations and timeless designs. An example of this can be found in the layout of each unit. The design boasts Japanese spatial composition while still feeling comfortable for local residents.
“While The Seasons Residences offers a Japanese identity, Filipino core values of simplicity, functionality, elegance and resilience were made evident on this project. The Japanese pattern on the façade design is a shared vision that serves as a bridge to Philippine and Japan design. As for the layout, spacing and amenities, the main consideration is the family-oriented culture which both Filipino and Japanese possess,” Casas+Architects Founder and CEO Ar. Carmelo T. Casas explained to the newspaper.
Vista Land also launches a Japanese-inspired condominium
While impressive, The Seasons Residences is not the first Japanese-inspired condominium to be launched in Metro Manila. Last year, Vista Residences, the condominium department of Vista Land & Lifescapes, and respected Japanese real estate developer Mitsubishi Estate (MEC) announced a similar residential project.
“Vista Land is excited to present our very first Japanese-inspired condominium property in Manila in collaboration with our joint venture partner MEC that will cater to university students and young professionals who want an upgraded lifestyle. We want our homebuyers to be able to balance their purpose and passion while enjoying the convenience of city living,” Vista Land President and Chief Executive Officer Manuel Paolo Villar explained to the Business Mirror.
